Need some help with burning and flashing and all that...

Ok i've been looking through different tutorials and I need some help. First off I need to buy a Dual Layer DVD burner i was thinking one of these 2 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/...6&Sku=P129-1000 or http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/...9&CMP=ILC-FOT04
Then i was looking at this program called Xbox Backup Creator and it said this in the box at the bottom Found ODD: TSSTcorp CDRWDVD TS-H492C DE02 at [D]
Found ODD: Found ODD: XH6986A MRC960P 2.0B at [F]
Found ODD: KJ7414P ODH640F 1.0 at [G]
*** No applicable drives found ***
so I went to options and looked at drive specifications and saw that it said SH-D162C, SHD163A, TS-H943A, GDR-3120L, and SDG-6058 and it said it was for the xbox 360, but how am I supposed to know which kind I have.
After fooling around with that proggram and looking at all the options and other things I came across some mod chips...they seem fine ,but i don't know how to solder...then as I was looking at the chips I saw a little website about like flashing the xbox firmware? something like that, and it seemed fine (but hard) and I also noticed some people saying that when they flashed thier xbox they could play thier backups, but not online. So can you or is he a noob? And the final question....Could someone give me the newest and easiest tutorial for backing up games?

just found out that my xbox's dvd-rom drive is TS-H943 Designed by Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology ms25

read the tut for flashing the ms25 drive and then flash it and get a samsung SH-D162C flash it with kreons and then rip your games and burn with the sony dual layer burner that you have up there from tiger direct...

thanks for the responses and help ,but what do you mean and get a samsung SH-D162C flash it with kreons is that another kind of xbox dvd drive and if so what would be the point of flashing my TS-H943 drive and then just flashing that< (if you don't know im confused lol)

yea you can buy them from ebay preflash with the kreon firmware...

yeah, thats the easiest way to go, unless you can find them cheaper somewhere without them being preflashed

yeah, but you still need to flash your 360 drive if you want to play burned games.

sweet....yea i know i gotta flash the xbox360, but thats sweet...they last time i made backups of games was with my playstation 1 and we had to install a mod chip and it sucked
