setting up ps2 online with wireless game adapter! HELP!!!!!!

I have a belkin router and a linksys wireless g game adapter. I have set up the adapter with the ip address of my wireless network. But my ps2 cannot get a connection. Do i need to assign an ip address to my game adapter? If so, how? And also why is there no mention of this in the instructions. I'm ok with almost all things computers b ut when it comes to wireless networking I'm not so great. I had no problem with setting up the router but this is just confusing! Any help is much appreciated!

I have the exact same situation my belkin router displays it is receiving transmissions but my ps2 is not working my son has to unplug my verizon dsl modem and carry it to the game room I believe it is receiving other wireless routers in the neighborhood sorry I can't help but I feel your pain!
