web cam wont work!

I have a webcam on my laptop and it takes pictures fine but I cant get video from it in windows movie maker. I did this once and it did work. but after that it keeps telling me that the device is not responding and failed to start up. What is the problem ? I can still takes pics with it though.

I need more specs to be very useful, but, are you trying to capture the vid from within movie maker? If you are i would try to find an independent capturing program like capture pad then import them into moviemaker. That program IMHO works way to hard at EDITING to be relied upon to capture as well
