what firmware do you have if it is custom firmware then you can change the buttons through the recovery console

yes i believe its in the recovery menu , to access it turn on psp and hold down R button , think option is in there sumwhere

I like having my PSP use the O button as the main key.

Annoys me though when I do something on my brothers one which is normal X button grrrrrrr

Don't use PSPset.. you can change it through the recovery menu. Just go to advanced configuration. PSPset is really only useful on 1.50 frmware.

Wait not advanced configuration go to Registry Hacks and go to button assign and hit O or X. Yours will say (currently O is enter) so just change it so it says (currently X is enter)

i have gone into on the main menu of recovery mode:
Advanced ->
Advanced configuration -> THEN THERE IS THESE OPTIONS
plain modules in umd/iso (currently : Disabled)
Execute boot.bin in umd/iso ( currently : Disabled)
use isofs driver also in umd-inserted mode ( currently : Disabled)
