My Friend has pretty much bricked his Xbox360,

I just wanted to know about anyone else that had this problem,

he says its a MS28, so when he came to flash the firmware, found a couple of differnt guides online that told him how to do it,

he had done some before, not MS28, and there was no problem, but this MS28 guide said to de-solder a resistor, this allows some access, and then re-run the firmware mod, so he did all this and when putting it back together, low and behold the Box goes to the Dashboard, but NO DVD DRIVE!!
ARGH!

has anyone else got this / Fixed this ?
so I can bring him out of the depressive state he is falling into without the beloved XBOX.

Thanks.

Lost count of my PSP CFW track, also who gives a baboons captains quarters, only info you need is: Ive done over 10 PSPs no bricks and its all thanks to the info in afterdawn (Yippie!)

PS2 (Battered and OLD) SwapMagic3...Its a ChubbyPS2.

try to put the resistor back on, but you dont desolder anything to flash the drive...

Thats a Bummer then,

Im sure he said that he had tried to put the Resistor back on,

I dont understand why he had guides to desolder, is it possible to do this newer Xbox Firmware without Soldering then ?

Do you know of a guide he should have used ?

I've removed the resistor on a few 28's in the beginning.

Did your friend remember to solder a wire to reconnect the 2 points where the resistor was when he finished?

OK I will ask him, and post it here, and get him to get an account here too,

anyway, does this mean from what you guys are saying, once the resistor is out it stays out, and is replaced by some wiry goodness?

yeah, or you can bridge it with solder if your good enough, but you cant burn any traces or your going to be SOL, but the wire is probably easier and works better

Looks like SOL,

I got him Finally on the phone,
and the Soldering of the cable is what he did and its not working,

he has said the it shows Error 64, whatever that means,

so I guess its Scuppered,

unless,, there is a way of attaching a DVD-ROM from a PC and Booting games like that,

any ideas ?
