i was trying to flash my xbox drive and the xecuter chip touched metal on my cpu and a portion of the chip burned.. after that i stopped trying to get into mode b and tried out my xbox to see if it still worked... it turns on but now it gets 3 red lights...is this problem fixable? ive heard of a heat gun trick and a wet towel trick to fix it, would this work for my problem? or would i have to buy i new dvd drive, or would i even be able to do that? what options do i have

try the heat gun, dont ever put anything wet around your xbox, good way to screw some stuff up, maybe a dry towel...it sounds like you fried your cpu, kinda doubt its fixable, send it to ms if you cant fix it.

i have some questions, how did it touch the cpu, wasnt the heatsink on the chip? and if you were messing around inside it why did you have it on?

ok fyi, next time you try to plug anything into anything, make sure both of them are off, and you wont have to worry about anything. but try the towel method or try this

Try a SIL3112 SATA card and use Slax to try and get it into modeB. People brick Hitachi's all the time using these so called kits. You'll never brick a Hitachi with a SIL3112 and SLAX.
