keyrom,
Physical memory : 255MB (261424kB)
Free physical memory: 180MB (184420kB)

Do you think you could increase the Ram to at least 512.
Looks like the rip was somehow screwed up:
10:15:09 PM #2 DVDREALLOC -21 File DVDVideoCompilation.cpp, Line 1189
Required file 'VIDEO_TS.VOB' is not present
You are missing the main file
Did you rip the whole DVD to the HD or did you rip only the Main Movie?

The file reallocation error indicates your files aren't compliant. Try processing the files with the latest version of FixVTS. If that doesn't work, try ripping the DVD over using a program that processes for compliance while bypassing the copy protection. RipIt4Me is what I use.

Had the same problem as you guys. I have an older version of DVDFab and a new version of AnyDVD. Neither would backup Rocky Balboa then pulled out Ripit4me for the first time and used DVD decryptor which I never thought I would use again and DVD Shrink. Worked the first time, pretty slick program if you ask me. Somebody took some old school with some new and BAM made it free. Pretty cool man. I guess you need some old school programs with old school Rocky. Hey yo Rock I got some stuff down in my basement too its called DVD decryptor and say hello to my little friend Ripit4me. It aint over till its over.

Thank you CarMike and PacMan777!!! I ended up trying what jodust did - I used the Ripit4me guide that I saw on the AfterDawn forum, and used Ripit4me, Decrypter, fixvts, and shrink, and backed up only the main movie. Worked quite well. Thanks for your help and support!!! The neat thing about these programs once they are downloaded, is that they work together very well, and do all the work automatically so that you basically sit back and let them do their job. My hat off to these programs, and especially those who created them. Happy back-ups!!!

That's a real help when you don't have enough. Now if I could just remember where I leave things. LOL
Once the RI4M setup with Shrink and Decrypter are set, that's all you need. FixVTS is a handy tool, but is incorporated in RI4M. All the rip modes work good with the heavier copy protections except ISO. The files have to be available for compliance processing and ISO locks them up. There's a revised version of Shrink which supports the newer ImgBurn, instead of DVD Decrypter burner ware (in the original 3.2). It can be found in the link found in bbmayo's RI4M guide:
http://webpages.charter.net/bacitup/TheGuides/pacman777guide.pdf
If the software link doesn't work, let me know. The revised version of Shrink with ImgBurn makes the backup process more seamless with a better burner program. For those who don't know, LUK wrote both DVD Decrypter and ImgBurn.

Well here's an update, back to the store to exchange disc. After trying all the programs and updates, I followed someones suggestion about checking original and sure enough, bad disc. It makes me feel like an idiot after reading all the posts about Rocky and trying all the different suggestions that I let something this simple frustrate me. But I would like to thank everyone again for this awesome forum.

Quote: You can do a scan of the DVD to see if you find a block of bad sectors. A DVD with a faulty press can sometimes play perfect, but won't record.
That came about the middle of page one. You're welcome. Don't feel alone, for whatever reason most people don't want to do a scan.

I currently use DVD Dhrink 3.2 and Nero to copy DVDs. I am finding that the amount of DVD's I can copy is decreasing. Is it worth gi=oing out and buying a DVDFab or AnyDVD to get around this. Or is their just somedvd's you canot copy regardless?
Thanks,
Detisme

Looks like some new members aren't paying attention to what's being posted all over the forums. Ripit4Me or DVDFab Decryter + FixVTS for decryption, Shrink for transcoding, and ImgBurn for burning. That's a complete backup slystem that does the most difficult releases so far. All free.

16 megs of RAM is barely enough to boot up. Plus CD players don't play DVDs.
I'm not into antiques, but I've heard some of the names. LOL

Well Well with a name like PACMAN I figured you have been around a while. Me personally I do like DVDfab over AnyDVD mainly because Fab takes less steps. It will take the encryption off and shink it all in one step, then you just burn it. AnyDVD makes you copy the entire movie or full disc to hard drive then clone takes it and shrinks it then it burns it. Now i say this knowing that AnyDVD runs into fewer DVDs that give you probs. Well im just gabbing later.

Currently here at AD there are 2 good freeware decryption programs being recommended for use with Shrink. AnyDVD no longer works well with Shrink on newer protections. Your favorite, DVDFab Decrypter, and my favorite, RipIt4Me. Both do a good job. However, DVDFab sometimes needs additional compliance processing, RipIt4Me incorporates FixVTS code and does the compliance testing. A nice feature of the new RipIt4Me is a Skip to DVD Shrink option when the protection is low enough for Shrink to handle on its own.
@ jodust
PacMan is back on the shelves, so it's not an indicator of age or experience. LOL However, I've been around to gain a bit of experience and had enough courses to know of the older equipment you mentioned. I knew you had to be kidding because little of the hardware you mentioned is still in use except as historical displays.
I notice your preference for DVDFab, but once set up RipIt4Me is just as easy. You open the DVD in 1-Click, wait for initial analysis, click Next and the program does the entire job (including compliance processing) and opens the files in Shrink for quick analysis (which is a compliance check as well). Hard to beat that for ease, especially if using Shrink for transcoding. If Skip to Shrink is indicated, the protection is light enough to use Shrink without auxiliary help. It also means it probably doesn't need additioanal compliance processing. One thing to note though is that Shrink does a light amount of compliance processing on its own.
If a person doesn't mind shelling out the cash, AnyDVD and CloneDVD work well together. In fact Slysoft says to use CloneDVD for ripping with AnyDVD on the newer protections. As Slysoft and its fans often say, AnyDVD and CloneDVD are made for each other. I agree, as AnyDVD is proving not to be the universal decryption program it once was.

Ripit4me .. worked like a Charm. It also integrates seemlessly with DVD Decryptor and gives you option to open up Shrink to test file and tells you what to clean up. Anyway.. I've found my Savior. Only wished I found this when I was trying to rip Casinal Royale

LOL That's nice, but what has that got to do with DVD Shrink. There's a good number of software combinations that do DVD backups.
