Hello I seen a post a while back abot some1 asking if these disks are any good as they were onsale at BestBuy 15 for like 20$. some1 else replied that they are good and he/she has used them. So I went agead and got a set. Well I burned a copy of my Lost Planet game to test it out (original disk not a downlaod or anyhting) i popped it onto the 360 drive and it sat on reading disk for like 2mins and then finaly said Unplayable disc. Well i have made some other copies of my orignal games using Memorex DL disks and i havent had a problem. I did it the same way i did the others. So i was wondering is it the media is why it cant play the game? I have Samsung MS28 with the newest xtreme firmware 5.2D. If it is can i take this back to BestBuy? if i do that what do i do with the disk that has the game on it?

Take them back and the ones that didn't burn properly. Tell them they are not compatible with your burner. Get a credit, money back or buy some good quality Verbatim DLs.

if you can afford to yes, if not, just wait and burn them when you can, you can use them, just dont play those games for long periods of time.

Download DVD Identifier and see if the Memorexes are made by CMC Mag. Free program get it here:
DVD Identifier
http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/
If you do have CMC Mags and have them on your HD then by all means reburn them on better media. If they are good brand keep them.

Over in these forums ppl arent so anal about DVD ID, so CMC MAG is ok... but it's best. if you get Verbatim which will code Verbatim or MCC.
Dynex is probably made by same ppl who make Memorex. There arent that many DL brands out there now, the best is verbatim.
make sure stay on top at teh media forums for thoes $30 for 20 Verbatim deals!

A buddy of mine told me Office Max is selling 10 packs for 15 bucks of dual layers. Even though I went on the site and it said verbatim DVD-R or +r 50 packs, or cd-r 100 packs are 15 bucks. I'm gonna go there either today or tomorrow and hope for the best cuz this is coming from a guy who also makes backups so I know he wouldn't be confused.
