PS2 SLIMLINE power problem

Hey everybody, i recently opened up my slimline ps2 SPCH-70012 and yeah... i was closing it back up and something happened, im not really sure what but now my switch doesn't work. I plug it in and the red light comes on but when i press the button, the red stays. I cant even figure out where the button should be touching so maybe something broke off it?

i dont really know.. any feedback is helpful, thanks guys

Same thing happened to me!

It is the power/eject assembly that is broken.

Here is a picture of the part that is causing the problem

When you put the top cover on the ps2 is VERY hard to get the actual button behind the switch on the cover.

It is very easy to break the button off the board when putting the case on.

You can take the top of the case off and see if you can press the button and hope it turns green.

same thing happenned to my ps2. i opened it up several times but never got it to work. ill probably order a power switch for my slim ps2 (you can get it from ebay). anyways if your interested, heres my thread:
