i have to dig up that link
after that then try burning

InCD can sometimes cause problems. Uninstall it and run the InCD clean tool. http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/InCD_CleanTool.html

just to let u know there is a firmware update for ur burner
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2175

also what is the method of apps u r using to backup?

r u using VobBlanker or FixVTS before shirnk, that should correct the missing VOB error.

u can give Ripit4me a try

You need compliant files for a good burn and RipIt4Me will help get the job done right. When done right the files will work in any program. So Bowler made a good point, along with firmware, that should be kept up to date for best results.

However born2ride brought up a serious problem as well. InCD is batch writing software that likes to control the burner drive at all times. It's a known problem for interfering with burner programs trying to do a DVD backup. If you're going to do DVD backups, you need to get rid of the InCD.

So, all the above. By the way, I did a full DVD backup using files processed by RipIt4Me, so I know it works. Give the program a chance to work. At first it reads hours on Decrypter and appears to stall. The program picked up and I had a complete set or processed files in 28 minutes.

You should have included the entire log. We often like to comment on the media a person uses as well. ;) Unless you needed it for a specific application, the ASPI layer you added to XP is useless. Other than for a specific application, it doesn't usually fix anything. To date I've not seen it cure 1 problem. The good thing is it doesn't hurt anything when installed properly. Use aspichk to make sure, if you haven't already.

No guarantees, but InCD is a known problem. The only way to eliminate the possibility is to remove it.

InCD can be a problem, especially if installed on a systen containing othe packet writing software like Roxio's Drag to Disk. If InCD has'nt been a problem for you so far, I would say it's ok to to have it installed, especially if you format RW disks from time to time.

That reads slightly different than what I've dealt with in the past. The batch writing software in itself is a problem. It interferes with other burner software because it hogs control of the burner. I've been told it can go a long time without being a problem and then start. Roxio and Nero not playing well has gone on a long time and is a problem of conflict between the drivers of the programs. In some cases one of the programs has to go. I had Roxio and all I had to do was turn off Drag to Disk to prevent problems. It was because it was batch writing software interfering with the drive, not because it interfered with Nero. It would have done the same thing without Nero. Nero and Roxio played well on my system. I'm aware there are quite a few that weren't so lucky. When removing Roxio, it's recommended to use RoxiZap. Nero has a cleaner tool for use when it's removed. As I mentioned, both programs have the problematic batch writing software. InCD can't be turned off, so it has to be removed. If Drag to Disk is present, try turning it off before moving on to removal.

By the way, what are you using for decryption software?

Yeah if you were able to burn discs with InCD installed I agree it probably isn't the culprit. But I would make sure it's not running while trying to make a backup. JM2C

How would you do that without removing InCD. I've not looked in a while, but it used to not have an on-off selection. I just agreed it's a possible cause of burner interference. If no one thinks it's worth checking, then don't. No need for a debate. Since there's so many knowledgable members here to assist idontkno, I'll leave this one to the rest of you. Too many helpers leads to confusion.

I'll just depart with letting idontkno know that one of the more common causes of the DVD-Video files reallocation failed error is due to poor compliance processing before the burn. There just happens to be a number of things about the setup that can cause problems. It's a process of elimination, so use a process of deduction that won't have the user running in circles.

Here's a guide for doing the backup with software that does good compliance processing. Use the revised version of Shrink from the AIO download, it supports ImgBurn.

bbmayo's RI4M guide:
http://webpages.charter.net/bacitup/TheGuides/pacman777guide.pdf

Next time post the entire log.

Since I have Roxio's suite installed, I can use Roxio without Drag to Disc being activated; I just assumed Nero would be the same way. When Roxio's Drag to Disc is used, there appears an icom in system tray

Just because Nero Start Smart window is active on my system, the programs, I don't think, are active until I click on them. In other words, when I'm using Recode or Burning Rom, I don't think InCD would be active, if I had InCD on my system.JM2C

Since in your opinion InCD doesn't cause a problem, go ahead and add it to your system. I hear it's a good batch writing program. ;) I was just going by past experience and what some of the knowledgable members have commented on here at AD.

Are you crazy? I don't need a problem. All I was saying if he could burn them before;

then I would say that InCD, if it is problem now, why was it not the problem before this time.

Since no one has responded in a few hours...
Sounds like you're using some software more than you need to.

The new version of RipIt4Me incorporates FixVTS code in the program to process the files for compliance. It's not necessary to run FixVTS again unless the user decides to edit the files for some reason following the RipIt4Me processing. Editing in Shrink doesn't count since it corrects for the editing done in the program.

Use RipIt4Me in the 1-Click mode (don't rip in ISO), when the files open in Shrink, transcode and burn. Or close Shrink and use the program of choice.
bbmayo's RI4M guide:
http://webpages.charter.net/bacitup/TheGuides/pacman777guide.pdf
The process in this guide works if the user follows the directions. You can leave your burn settings to Nero or use the free ImgBurn. I'd suggest using the revised version of Shrink from the AIO download. It supports ImgBurn for burning instead of DVD Decrypter. For the first trial I'd go with ImgBurn and then switch back to Nero on the next to see if a different burner program makes a difference.

if it is problem now, why was it not the problem before this time.

I've had software engineers, not just card reading online support, tell me that recording programs may work for a long time and then one day the interference begins and continues until the cause is repaired.

Batch writing software, which InCD is, is among the major causes of interference. I'm surprised that people now accept the interference problem with programs like Nero and Roxio but used to condemn 321 Studios for similar problems happening with their software. I guess with those high prices everyone thought XCopy should work no matter what. However, Nero is close in price now. I noticed the past few times I went to load Nero that InCD wasn't checked and needed to be checked by the user if they want it. Appears even Nero understands what a problem it can be, even with the Nero suite software.

Surprising as it may seem to us, some people don't do backups on their PC and batch writing software is more important than video recording.

did anything change on your pc? now are all movies effected now or just certain ones. is it always the VTS 1_02.VOB that is missing.. you stated "casino royale was orignally dual layer, so must my dvd r cds be dual layer, because shrink compresses them." are you using dvds to burn to?. shrink compresses to make dl fit a DVD5 (Single layer)
try dvdfab then shrink with Nero enable to burn

U can find the link for DVDFab from the guide in my post above, but DL VobBlanker from the link in my post.

no u dont have to have DL(dual layer) disk to copy a DL commercial disk
that is what shrink is for.
