Ever wonder what an isobuster question is doing in a DVD Shrink forum?

What were you wanting to do to LOTR with ISObuster? What are you using for decryption software?

Guess you didn't check to see what the ISObuster site had to say about it.

Quote:
Q25. Can't read certain files from DVD-ROM discs ?

Device reports errors : 05/6F/xx
The DVD standard allows protection on some DVD files ... (*.vob files for instance)
The DVD will not return the data of the blocks where the file-data is stored unless the drive is first told to give the data anyway.
The way to 'tell' the drive to return the data is 'kind of' secret.
Isobuster (at least for now) can not read these files either.
The moment you start your DVD decoding software and start playing a DVD movie, the drive is 'unlocked' by this software ... .
Once 'unlocked' we have to deal with yet another issue ...
Besides 'locked', these sectors are scrambled as well !

Like I asked, what decryption software are you using? Try using DVD Region + CSS free from DVDIdle or AnyDVD from Slysoft. Both have trials so you don't need to buy anything till you try it out.

From the statement I posted by ISObuster they are saying the program WILL NOT read encrypted and protected DVDs. Factory DVDs like LOTR have encryption and copy protection. If you can manage to use a program to remove the anti copy protection then ISObuster may work. I even suggested the program. It's up to you to read the guide on how to push the individual buttons. They even tell you how to do that in the tutorial I listed.
First read the tutorial and learn how to use ISObuster on an unprotected DVD.
Second get a driver type decryption program like I listed above.
Third, turn on the decryption software and use ISObuster to read your files from LOTR.

Whatever your optical drive designation is on your PC is the one you use. For instance my D drive is a hard drive and I have 2 optical drives, F and G. Either of those can be used to read from a program such as ISObuster. So select your drive (whatever the designation) to use with the program.

All this trouble, I think I'd replace the DVD with a new one. Obviously you don't know a lot about computers or the software. You have to have instruction and learn to use the software and hardware. You can't expect to just ask a couple of questions and get the job done with little or no experience.
