To copy a dvd, do i need to make an iso to burn with Nero? what other ways can i completely copy the dvd. i usually make an iso with shrink and then burn with Nero. I dont understand how the "video_ts" folders work and if those can be burned to make a complete copy of a dvd.
also i need to know how to compress an iso image made with dvd decryptor in shrink to fit on a 4.7 gig dvd not a dual layer 8.5 gig. I try to open an image with shrink and it sais it cant read it. I think its because decryptor also makes an "MDS" file along with it. Shrink can open images i made with it, but now with decryptor. help is appreciated

also i am getting an issue with casino royale the bonus disk reads fine with AnyDVD in the back, but when i do the feature film, it sais it cant read drive F:/ (which is my dvd drive)

I would burn the ISO with Imgburn...http://www.imgburn.com

Open DVD Shrink and go to File -> Open Disc Image and browse to your ISO, continue as usual.

This has nothing to do with it...it is simply an instruction file, you can choose it or the ISO with the same results.

VIDEO_TS folder contains your VOB files, this is the actual structure of the DVD...and ISO contains the same information, but with a different delivery system. http://www.videohelp.com/dvd#struct

well ripit4me just sais that the filename is invalid and aborts, when i try to shrink the iso image or mds image with shrink it sais it cannot read it. ideas?

If the DVD is already on your HDD why would you use ripit4me? Or is this a attempt a rip? What is the name of the movie?

It means that the rip or the cleaning of the files was not successful...rerip and follow all the recommendations of ripit4me.

I dont have anything on my computer from the movie im copying which is Casino Royale. I try to open it with DVD Shrink alone, and it sais invalid navigation structure, this happened with another dvd so i use AnyDVD and it worked. I try it now and it sais it cant read file F:/
If I try to use ripit4me (v.1.7.0) it tries to open up DVD Shrink itself and sais the file name is invalid.

I did Casino Royale with the same version of ripit4me that you are using...Movie + Menus = no worries.

DVD Shrink will not handle this movie on its own....also shut down AnyDVD before using Ripit4me, they will only create problems with one another.

AnyDVD is turned off, what about the invalid filename error.I just want to make the iso to keep on my hdd so i can burn it when i want to. its the latest version of ripit4me, and I still get the error when AnyDVD is off.
can u link me to any guides on how to make an image to store on ur hdd?

How many times do you need it? The files you rip with RipIt4Me are on the HD in DVD9. This method works unless you have a flawed source or a system problem. Most people are getting it. You need to follow the guide closely except use Full DVD for Rip Mode and close once the files open in Shrink. Remember where you sent the files.

I recommend this one because the revised version of Shrink supports burning with ImgBurn instead of the older DVD Decrypter burner ware supported by the original Shrink 3.2. That is if you need to ever use ImgBurn.
