Allright... I'm a complete retard when it comes to this stuff, and I'm not willing to risk much because I'm scared to brick it. So here's my problem... My psp's firmware is 2.6 and I have a TA-082 (when i open the umd drive, it says IC1003) I don't have any friends with a 1.5, and I read some stuff about upgrading to 2.7, but I don't know how to do that. So if anyone could give me a noobfriendly steb by step process that has the least amount of chance of bricking my psp, that'd be really great. Thanks

edit - I dont want to upgrade to 3.03 or whatever, because I don't own an unpatched gta game.

MAKE SURE YOU UPGRADE TO 2.71 FIRST!!!!!

after you downgrade use this to upgrade to 3.03 oe-c and your set

you dont need an unpatched gta game to downgrade from 2.71
