you can either buy a new ps2 or if your good at fixing stuff you can try to repair it. you cause it by putting in the leds. maybe u did it wring you probably shorted something. they might have been to much for the ps2. did u make em or buy em?

Got it its not worth it to fix it just buy a new power supply http://www.psxrepair.com/eurostore/index.php/cPath/22_29 and some spare fuses. this site should help you with spare parts that you need. Make sure that its defiantely the power supply thats giving you the problems first. then buy the power supply.

Would a damaged eject/reject cable make the ps2 cut out in the middle/not turn on?

because I put the leds on the 4 prongs attached to the ps2... it has nothing to do with the power supply so that means the power is going from the supply to the ps2 board, right? its just not turning on so its the eject button/cable

*has hopes up*

I would have to say that would be the first thing I would repace(ribbon). As far as the powersupply I really doubt thats the problem. Seems like it was taking apart and damaged while the leds where installed. What version PS2 do you have?

Hey try this right here with your old ribbon. First straighten out bent connectors. Take some scotch tape and stick like 3 pieces on the end that is bad. Cut the extra off. Do not put the tape on the connection side. Now take some needle nose pliers and push it in slowly. This might fix your ribbon problem.
