i know that this dosent really answer your question but I am running 3.03 oe-c and I find that it is very easy for me to find programs that run on it. I am very happy with my choice.
Well I hope that a more informed hacker can give you more specific advice. Good Luck!

Devhook is old hat that runs from 1.5fw and emulates higher firmware. After loading devhook you would then load a back-up game at a time from there. You would have to swap from devhoow back to 1.5 to use homebrew.

3.03 OE-C is a custom fw of sony 3.03 firmware which allows you to run all homebrew as you would from 1.5fw and also allows you to run all your back-up ;) games from the XMB. You can also customize your psp relatively easily in 3.03OE-C.That's my understanding anyway.

if you want the newest thing out choose 3.10 oe-a
if you want customization choose 3.03 oe-c

i personally use 3.03 oe-c

what firmware are you running atm?

just forget about devhook custom firmware is much better

If I were you I would probably go with 3.03 oe-c since that is the fw with the most users, which means that many more apps, homebrew games, and customization.
With this you should be able to easily find custom:
gameboots, bootsounds, icons, battery edits, fonts, soundbars, and waves.
I knew nothing about hacking/modding and i have changed all of these things and not even temp bricked my PSP so I personally recomend 3.03oe-c

with 3.10 you wont find nearly as many, since it is still fairly new.
good luck with

devHOOK= relic from months past (uselsess pretty much)

OE-C or OE-A, CFW that can play homebrew and emulate ISO/CSOs w/o the need for an 3rd party program....

OE-C is like steak and eggs, and devhook is like a piece of dry toast with a boot print on it....

id get 3.03 OE-C if i were you (or anyone for that matter)

I feel sorry for people still using DEVhook.....no, i feel stupid for them...
3.03 OE-C | 3.10 OE-A | 3.30 OE-A |3.30 OE-A' | 3.40 OE-A
