Another PSP to downgrade but...

I have a friends PSP who wants to downgrade to 1.5 but his is the TA-082 V2.81 firmware. Is there a downgrader out now? The search brings out pots which are fairly old so was wondering hopefully someone has done one?

Your going to have to upgrade to 3.03 firmware then downgrade to 1.5 and then use the link in my signature to get to oe-c.

You'll need an unpatched version of GTA:LCS umd to be able to complete the downgrade.

*EDIT* Here is the tutorial needed for downgrading from 3.03

So that is to upgrade to the official 3.03 firmware from Sony first?

Can I use an ISO for GTA? or does it have to be the UMD?

it has to be the umd

Also when it says:

7 - Unzip the 1.50 update to a temporary folder. Rename the EBOOT.PBP to
UPDATE.PBP and copy it to <pspdrive>:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/ . DO NOT
OVERWRITE PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP!

Where is the 1.50 update? its not in the downloaded files?

The game is very cheap and a good investment. it only costs about $20 canadian.

Seems pretty straightforward so will keep an eyes out for this game on the bay of E. What is the big deal with that game then?

Theres 2 links on that tutorial...1 for the actual downgrade and one for the 3.03 update.

The big deal about GTA:LCS umd unpatched is that theres an exploit in the game that allows you to downgrade from 3.03 on any motherboard. I wouldnt suggest purchasing off ebay though because they usually sell for 50-70 on there. If you absolutely dont want to purchase it then i would suggest renting it from your local video store. Just make sure its the unpatched version and not the patched version

copyright 2005=unpatched
copyright 2006=patched
But double check on your psp when the game is in that it says psp update ver 2.00 just to be safe

it will be a good investment if you are planning to buy another psp ,you may need to downgrade again
or if you buy the game cheap you can sell it on ebay

Actually im still a bit confused about the 1.5 update. Is this the unzipped files from the downgrader? which is MS_Root. In there there is PSP then in GAME there is an update folder in there there is an EBOOT.PBP is this what has to be renamed?

Well jut bought the game off Ebay for £25!! Plan to get my money back from it easily though. don't think i will be needing it in the future as they may have a downgrader by then.

So this will be fine for the TA-082 motherboard then?

ok so i dont have a ta-82 mother board but i do have the 2.81 firmware so i tried those links but i can't upgrade to 3.03 because i only get "corrupted data" when i try to place the upgrade in the UPDATES folder. Am i doing it wrong or is the link bad if so do you know of another one?

Rename that downloaded file to EBOOT.PBP and put it in the PSP\GAME\UPDATE folder. Create an update folder if there isn't one there.

I've literally just downgraded mine. When you download the file it has a How To in there and the download links. I bought the game and worked a treat now running 3.03 OE-C!
