ok, i was opening up my ps2 slimline to tape down the switch that tells wether its open or not. And on the reset switch the white button broke off. so, me being very stupid, took a peice of metal thinking it would fix it, and put it against the place where the on switch was. the red LED light went out and it wont turn back on. do i have to get a new ps2?????

hhmmm... maybe u shorted something....take metal out and have a look at where it was touching..maybe u made a bridge tween to points and burtn something out

Buy a new switch. It should be cheaper than a new ps2.

maybe, but there is nothing inside the switch that will short. the switch is broken perhaps. and i'd say that it is only broken if u hadn't put metal in there.

i dont kno what else u may have shorted in there, get a new switch. if it still dont work, i guess u shorted a fuse on the mainboard somewhere

post a pic of the inside and where the "light mark" is. it might give ppl an idea on what u have shorted (blown).

I think you have blown one of many fuses somewhere. Check for that and replace an appropriate one in there.

Does it has a red led on?

When you preset the reset button, nothing happened?

Is your power supply has broken? The AC-DC adapter sometimes goes bad.

The red led light is not on. i replaced the switch and it is still not on. i am beginning to think it is a fuse but how do i know which fuse it is?
