I need to know this because i wanna start homebrewing...my psp has the little code i checked and its a TA-082... wondering if a TA-82 is another name for it or a whole new thing.

no, its just someone being lazy and not putting ta-082...

and at that, whether or not your mobo is a ta-082 or not, only matters if you are fw 2.81 and below (when searching for a downgrader).
