When a burnt game seems to take forever to load, or even to change scenes

i just burnt one of my games to test out if it worked, but when i played it it took forever to load each scene.. Not only that but the game had a sepia sort of look when it isn't like that on the original.
I am using MAXDATA discs, i am ripping the MDS/ISO file with disc decryter, i have a matrix mod chip (or something like that i think...i'm not entirley sure) and my burner is a Pioner.
Is the reason the quality is so bad and the loading time is so long because of the discs i'm using, the way i'm burning it, the mod chip or the burner?

MAXDATA discs, hmmmmm that may be the problem try some sonys.???????what speed are u burning at ?

Try Verbatims or Taiyo Yudens 8x burnt at 4x and you should get great results.

The type of media (discs) you use is very important when it comes to backing-up PS2 games (or any games for that matter).
