							Hey all!
Found this board through a search engine while trying to find info on getting ASPI to work for Nero 6.
I just downloaded Nero 6 and got it installed properly about 5 days ago, and I've been having the same problem that I did with 5.5.10.20 & the one before that (and, also I have the same problem with Adaptec's Easy CD Creator 5.01)... I can't burn in DIsc-At-Once mode. According to the information that Nero gives me at the 'Choose Recorder' screen, my burner supports DAO and DAO96, along with the ever-popular Track-At-Once.
My question is... what could be causing this? I've obtained Adaptec's ASPI version 4.60(1021) and installed that and it still won't burn at all for CD Creator. The ASPI file or files for Nero are there (obtained the newest ones through nero.com... think it's version 2.0.something) and installed that and Nero will burn the disc, but it runs into a command sequence error when it goes to finalize the disc.
I have the error log for Nero, but I can't get CD Creator to generate one for me. Here's the one for Nero:

Hopefully, this'll be some help... TAO is so much slower than DAO.
Oh, and I'm running Win98SE if that's needed information.

I downloaded Feurio! last night and installed it. After downloading and installing, I burned a test disc (a collection of Warren Zevon songs) on CD-RW. At the end of the burn sequence, it coughed up an error at me. The disc works, so I'm not sure where the error happened in the sequence. I saved the error log and will post it with this message:
 Feurio-Write-Errorreport

 Error-Message:
 Error during CD-recording:
There was an error when writing the leadout:

CD-Name:	Warren Zevon - Warren Zevon
 Device:	[0, 0, 0] HP - CD-Writer+ 8200
 Error: COMMAND SEQUENCE ERROR
 At command: Write Leadoff
Comments/Hints: The command is not permitted at the moment.
Either an attempt was made to send a write command without the writer being in write mode, or to send a "normal" operation while the writer is in write mode.
Either the writer was accessed with a driver not designated for this writer, or another program has accessed the writer during the writing process and thus for example cancelled the writing process prematurely.

I hope that's of some help. I can't make heads or tails out of it.
I do like Feurio!... it's way faster than Nero 6.0 or CD Creator 5.01 and it does work in DAO mode (that's the only mode I see). So, yeah... let me know what all that means and if that error is serious or not.

I don't know what it means... well, what you know: burn fails when writing LeadOut.
I only know that when I overburn much and burning fails DURING LeadOut, Feurio shows a message saying that it's not a problem and the disc will work correctly. BUT I don't know if in your case, the failure is when it's going to burn the LeadOut or DURING LeadOut, so maybe your discs are defective even if they sound in some players. Did you try to make a direct copy of it?

 Is your burner USB?
Then that would be the "source" of the problem, but I don't know exactly why (I've never used a USB burner).
You could try stupid things like changing the USB port where you connect the burner to.
It shouldn't work, but USB ports aren't reliable.

 Apart from that:
Quote:Why do you still have this driver in your system?nerocd95.vxd
 Fileversion....: 4.5.0.14
 Productversion.: 4.5.0.14
FileDesription.: Nero CD driver for Windows 95/98/ME
 ProductName....: Nero - Burning Rom
 InternalName...: Nero VXD

AFAIK, this driver is not anymore in the latest Nero 5.5 and 6.0 versions.
Maybe you didn't unistall old Nero versions correctly or the Nero uninstaller didn't remove it (I wouldn't be surprised coming from Ahead).

You can disable it in Feurio CD-Writer -> Extras -> System Diagnosis

Hmm... I burned a CD-RW with it last night and it worked (I've got a portable cd-player that plays CD-RWs). I'm not sure if it's a driver problem or something stemming from the USB ports... I'll try changing the ports and see if that fixes the problem. If it doesn't, I'll let you guys know what happens.

OK, then it's a USB drive...
Did you try this?: "Try to get the old WNASPI32.DLL from the old versions of Nero5.5 that worked OK and replace it."

This is likely the problem. Ahead modified that file sometime ago and they didn't do it very well...
