Problem Reading NBA2K7

I have no problems reading 360 games using XBC but for some reason
I keep getting "DVD read error" at very early stage of reading process (Between 4 - 7% mark) when trying to read NBA2K7
This is new orignal game which will play on 360 but for some reason as mentioned reading will not continue.
Is anyone having similar problem? what could be the cause of this?

from what ive heard some [people are having troubles with this version. you might want to get 2.4 and try that one.

No go, exact same problem with V 2.4 as well.
I can see some scratches on the disk sp perhaps it;s the disk & if so how is it that I can play the game ( at least the very beginning)

hmm...try doing it this way...
1. click on the drive tools tab, and unlock the drive. press it until it gives you a number like 6 gigs or something high like that.
2. go back to the read tab, and click on current partition.
3. read that section. and if it works go to um... back to drive tools, and get the SS DMI PFI files, then open up ss merger and insert the files into the right spots and merge it that way. that might work, but im not sure.

That is a scratch deep enough to impact the reading process for backups. Have had this happen a couple times when friends gave me their origionals to backup for them. Xbox reads it just fine but if the scratch is bad enough to impact your dvd reader, can't get a working image. Goes with life I guess.
