Hey guys. I need an easy way to back up my dvds to dvd5s, since im getting sick of my friends scratching the hell out of my good ones. all i need is some software that will take care of all my new dvds since my copy of dvdxcopy isnt working on the new ones.

DVDXCopy was an easy program to use. I had a copy way back when. If you want the same ease, you can get AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2 from Slysoft. http://www.slysoft.com LOCOENG covered decryption for you. The key to doing a backup is good decryption and sometimes adding compliance processing. If you want free, ripping with DVDFab Decrypter, opening the files in DVD Shrink for transcoding (if the files don't open use FixVTS and then try again), and using ImgBurn for burning the output is a good solution.
