First off, I apologize if I double post here, I have searched for 2 hours to no avail here and on other sites.

I just recently got my PSP and I have seen all kinds of ideas on how to use games on memory with older versions of the fermware. Unfortunately my PSP came with version 3.30 installed on it and I have seen nada about how to play games with that.

I keep getting the infamous "to use this content you must activate the system" and I am not able to find anything to helpexplain what to do with my new version of the firmware, I am also verious dubious about these downgraders I have read about, most of them do not mention anything about V 3.30 and I do not want a $200 brick.

Is there any way to play these PS2 games, and or "back ups" without "hacking" my system?

suggestions and links would be great, I am a total noob to the PSP arena, thanks

You need to have firmware 1.5 or custom firmware to run psp games on your memory stick. There is no downgrader for 3.30 yet and probably anytime real soon.

Ouch $45! I have seen others that were much cheaper. I was hoping there might be some sort of freeware or something. But I guess I will get PSP Movie Creator, I tried the demo, it worked and was only $35...Wish there was a good option for less...but oh well ;>)

to get dvds to your psp look for something that records the dvds and puts them to you PC. then transfer them to PSP its easy and the thing is free to get

I am sure, I bought it right out of the shipping box at Target.

I looked a bunch of times to be sure, and sure nuff, it says 3.30...

Also, I did not run any updates...

Nope, it says so on the PSP itself, under system settings...
