I know that for DVD Decrypter and ,as of rather recently, Ripit4me will no longer be updated so logically I leave them off auto update. My question is this--have their been reported cases of people being tracked or receiving malware, etc. as a result of leaving the auto update feature on?

Not that I'm aware or have heard of.
My guess if there was a case where this happened it would probably be big news in the different dvd forums. But just a guess.
