when ever i try to play ps2, it doesnt work. the beginning goes fine just like it was going to go start the game. after the little boxes go away, the screen just goes black.

any suggestions?

Being more specific would help. Here's a few questions.

1. A slim or a fat PS2 (including version # and SCH might help)
2. Was the game you were playing an original, import or back up?
3. What blank media did you use if it was indeed a back up?
4. Were you in need of the use of a Swap Magic disc or modchip to play?
5. What game exactly?
6. Does it do so for all games?

and so forth, much more questions.

Being accurate and providing as much information can help you and anyone else in trying to help you out but if you are as vague as you are here, it's hard unless someone can tell what the problem is right off the bat, then excuse me for sounding a bit impudent (which wasn't what I was trying to do if I came off that way).
