When installing vista ultimate 64bit on my machine through a clean install, i choose my language etc.. then it tells me that I need a cd/dvd driver to continue and asks me to search for it..

I have downloaded the drivers from the MSI website that it wants for vista, the JMicron Controller for devices, and burned them to cd and usb drive, but after I have clicked next, it tells me that it is not right etc...

I am stuck at this point, because I am sure that it is the correct driver. It shows up in the box whilst the tick is in "only show compatible drivers" and appears to be the right one, then it seems to decide that its not.

I'm a bit peeved about this, cos I was looking forward to trying out the new OS and its cost me a fair whack!

I ran the windows vista upgrade advisor in XP and one of the items that it cannot find information on is the JMicron JMB36X Raid Controller.

Like I said, I obtained the update and it is on the cd, but just no joy.

Any advice...?
