Hi,
My first post in this forum so please be kind!
I've owned my PSP for two years and in all that time have only bought and played original (full price) games. Now it seems that the whole world has modded their PSPs to be able run games from the memory stick I feel rather left behind. There is a wealth of information on this forum on how to mod one's PSP provided their firmware version is "moddable". My question is just how many games can you expect to hold on a 1GB stick? I've seen 2GB sticks out and they are not cheap (=Sony). What are your thoughts?

not too much, perhaps two or three small cso's....or a lot of homebrew (sega, nes,gba...etc)...i have 4Gig sony...very expensive....also very worth it....

Depends...Usually it holds anywhere between 1-4 psp games. However, if you look up how to rip games, you can take portions of a game out (videos, radio, music, etc) to make the games size quite smaller. I've seen NBA Live 07 which as a full ISO is about 650mb, ripped to create a 90mb ISO.

I have ,DBZ Another road 313mb,Call Of Duty Road To Victory. 221mb, Rainbow Island Evolution 192mb,Payout Poker And Casino 131mb and ,Puzzle Bobble 9mb on my 1gb at the moment + some homebrew games and 32mb freespace but im buying too 4gb Memory Sicks And Getting a 2gb free for $268nz cant wait
all funn in games

Let me guess... 1gb for emulators
2gb for music
4gb for videos
4gb for iso and cso

The 2GB SanDisk sticks are HKD540 here in the high street stores. Cheaper in the computer malls/specialist stores. I don't need to say that an equivalent sized microSD card is a lot less than half of that. It doesn't help that memory stick pro duo cards are only manufactured by a few.
Well, once I get my PSP modded I will definately try reducing the game footprints and get a larger stick (or two).

As I finally managed to sort my psp into 3.03oe-c. I had to get a 4gb (£20 -ebay) stick, I already own 1&2gb sticks but wanted to be greedy. I've got all old emulators and roms on the 1gb. The good old days.
Are there any cheat programs to run on the c64 and amiga emulators, I have seen built-in cheats on a few games but not the ones I want?

Forgot to mention yes there are loads of fakes out there which aparently wont hold a file bigger than 1gb even thou the disk is 4gb. The one I bought on ebay was actually from UK and it had the sony logo on it, genuine product - came with packaging.

Not everyone who buys memory sticks from ebay know that its fake until they find out some of its functions are unusable...by that time, im sure they left positive feedback because everything had "seemed" in order

i just got my sony pro duo high speed 2gig card in the mail after only 2 days ( i placed the order late at night as well) it came brand new in package, one of the best deals i ever got 20 bucks for the stick and 6 bucks for shipping. dont mean to sound like an infomercial but its a really good deal, btw only paypal is accepted i believe. anyway heres the link: http://www.pricegrabber.com/user_sales_g...&lot_id=6073258

there is a median so beware i bought a 20$ 2gb sandisk and it came with a buck of corrupted files and stuff and now every month or so i have to defragment and volume check it to keep it in proper order and it still corrupts files to the extent that i cant use the oeupdatemaker program cuz the stick corrupts the update file (got the data.dxar from somewhere else though)

Not sure what people mean by expensive (its all relative I guess), but you can get offcial 4GB sticks from Picstop for around £55 which is bugger all really, spend more than out if you went for a night out.
4GB sticks are the way to go, fit so much more on.

4GB sticks are not too expensive unless you buy them retail. My brother bought his at Best Buy for $119.99 Cdn. + 14% tax on top about a month ago. I found a retailer on eBay selling real retail versions (he buys them by the boatload from Sony in Japan) - he has an actual retail storefront in the Toronto so I dropped by and bought them for $65.00 Cdn., everything included, this past week. Shop around...check eBay and craigslist. There are bargains to be had.

Not everything on eBay is fake. the 4GB stick that I bought from eBay (from a local seller with a real storefront) was the full retail Sony version, sealed with packaging. It's the same one my brother got in the retail store. I chcked it and it holds 4GB (or 3.78GB, etc.)
There are scams for anything on eBay, but it's like the old saying goes - if it's too good to be true, it probably is. If they are selling something dirt cheap, but won't allow local pickup, that tells you something. If they refuse to take close up photos of the real item, that tells you something. And if they ignore your questions, that definitely tells you something. Also check their feedback - if they are selling fakes, buyers will call them out.

I took a look at some of the sellers on pricegrabber and most require a US zip code to give a shipping quote. To ask a question I need to register - great.

i got a fake 4gb card. either that or it was defective. gave me a bsod everytime i put it in my laptop with the adapter. slow write rates too. so i returned it and got it on amazon.
PStwo slim w/ xenoPS, NGC w/ xenoGC, PSP w/ 3.03 OE-C (3)4gb sony ms
