DVD X Copy - Copying Video Rentals?

I just started reading about DVD X Copy Xpress and It seems pretty simple to just rent a video from a video store and just burn it on a blank DVD with this program. I know that you have to say you agree to their terms and conditions and all that, but we know that most people just check it off anyway and go through with this. It seems like the video stores can catch people doing this and can get them in trouble for it. Am I wrong? sorry for such a newbie question, just curious

Your not supposed to ask questions like that here. Also, don't buy dvdxcopy, use dvdshrink and another burning app. It does the same thing (except burn) for free.

sly's got it right. I started out with Xcopy, then I found DVDShrink and wish I had never paid for Xcopy.

Dont know how a video store could catch you unless they have surveilance on your house, but i doubt it ;-)

There are warnings about not doing that, and sometimes these warnings just give you ideas that you never thought of doing. But it comes down to morality and that RFID tag inbedded in your wrist. Do you really want the government knowing your every move and mistake? Make the correct legal choises and your every move may not be tracked.

I don't think the video stores would really care. If you rent a movie to copy it they are still making money off you. What I would be concerned about is if any of the copyright holders catch you; if they come into your house and find a bunch of bootleg movies you are risking fines, jail, and a criminal record. Is that worth it?
And by asking these questions on an open forum, if somebody really wanted to they could trace your IP and get a warrant. That's what happened to the 261 or so people that the RIAA went after a couple of weeks ago.

The tracing of ISp's was in relation to file sharing N MP3's , so unsure how this would work for dvd's , big stores like blockbuster dont mind as they dont see the bigger picture , they just see joe bloggs renting a few dvd's each night and dont care what he's doing with them as long as he doesn't let his cat dance on them so low risk if your gonna keep a sneaky "illegal" backup.
Something gonna give though as in the Uk we dont hear about many suing / countersuing cases apart from stalls down the barras market getting busted with 1/4 million pound worth of copied dvd's thats who the big fish care about not Joe Bloggs renting dvds legitimatlly .
