ok guys, ive been on countless irc chat room, read countless of tutorials, but I have never heard of any problem like that.If you people can get my HD to work i would put money on the line IM SERIOUS.

ok heres what i have:

Xbox v1.2, chameleon chip,xecuter2 4977 bios, new Hd is Maxtor 80gig 7200 rpm 2mb cache set in master mode.

What i already tried:

Evox new HDD v1.2 = Didnt work
Evox new HDD v1.4 = Didnt work
Slayers auto-installer v2.1 = Didnt work

The problem:

After i have prepared my Hd with these programs, I FTP to it, and noticed the size of the Drives C: E: F: X: Y: are all 0 mb but the Z: is 78 gig. so i cant Upload my old C: and E: drives to it!

I tried Zeroing my drive with XHDDPREPARER but after that, the same problem occurs when i put a new HD installer in my Xbox.

Im desperate and pissed off....anyone?

If you have friend w/ an xbox that is modded you can have them format your hdd for you. If the same problem happens in another xbox then it must be a faulty HDD. I have seen a few faulty HDD's brand new out the box that froze up and simply would not format. Try that if you can.

Hey dude,

Simple to resolve!

Set your HD jumper to CS(cable select) NOT Master.

Enjoy..

Use OEM hdd and new HDD.Add OEM to first IDE channel as Master and new HDD to second IDE channel as master.USe norton Ghost 2003 boot disk.
use this command:in DOS

ghost /ir

This will enable ghost to read/write in raw mode.

Clone OEM HDD to New hdd.Should take 10 mins. Then install to xbox and format F:\ drive.

No dude, no need for all that. It really is simple. Buy a nice new MAXTOR or SEGATE drive which is lockable (for LIVE compatibility), Set to CS (cable select). Install in XBOX, switch on, insert EVOX Auto installer. and bobs your uncle or aunty!
