If anyone could help me, I would appreciate it very much. I just got this older phone from a friend, who stopped using it a while ago. I had a cell phone with Unicel as my provider (Unicel is a sister company to cingular) but it went through the washing machine and no longer works, but my sim card is fine. So I figured I'd stick my sim card in it and use that as my phone...only problem is that I get a Restriction Code message when I turn it on, and my friend doesn't know what the code is. So I was wondering if you guys could help.

I tried that code, but it says Code Error, and has a stop sign in the upper left hand corner of the screen.

Well, the original code I believe was locked to a Cingular card. Of course that sim card is no longer active but it still turns the phone on and can access any thing in the phone, for instance phone book and messages and what not, but no service becauase it has been disconnected. So I put my sim card in it, which is Unicel, and it gives me that message.
I don't know if this is helpful or not, I'm very sorry, I'm completely new to this.

Well, I've tried twice with that code, because I wasn't sure if I entered it correctly the first time, but both times it gave me that message. But before I came on here, I just hit the okay button not knowing that you needed a code to get on the phone. So a total of 3 times now.
