i had to update my ps3 to 1.6 in order to play online but now its asking to update to 1.7 but i dont really wont to if i can help it.having a modded psp i know when where able to play back ups im sure its going to be with the earlier firmware.ive been looking on differant sites and came across a way to get around updating but still able to play online(i think using a proxy) but now i cant find it at all can you help with a link to it thanks

i odn tthink you can go online without upgrading. thats the downside for now.... however i have not seen a way around it thus far,
