Searched for an Easy Installer, and THIS is what I came up with.
Anything better than this out there?
Thanks again.

Here is a link for the 3.40OE Easy Installer.
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1134
It's easy to use, set your kernel to 1.5 mode (if you're using 1.5FW you're already there.. duh), copy the files to your PSP/GAMES directory and launch the program..
Make sure your AC adapter is plugged in... that's it.

Thank you so much Toren. I followed the link, and it downloaded slick as could be. Works great with!! Loving my new firmware :o)
One more question (for now) - When I put UMD games in, they all seem to have a firmware update on them (2.7, etc.). Is there any risk of accidentally loading one of these, and messing up my fancy OE firmware?

nope, no chance of 2.7! the psp thinks ur on standard 3.40, so u would be DOWNGRADING to 2.7, but thats not possible from a UMD. maybe if u put a UMD with 3.50 in their, their is a chance

Awesome! Thanks for the quick response. I wasn't sure if the PSP thought that it was running v1.5, and that the 3.4OE just gave it the appearance of a newer version, or if the PSP actually thought it was running v3.4. Super helpful; now I'm not quite so scared to let my niece play on my PSP (other than the obvious problems with kids and electronics).
Thanks,
-RD

That's what I thought, but nothing is happening. I am following the directions which say:
To set your kernal to 1.50:
1. shut off PSP.
2. Turn on PSP, holding down the right shoulder button for 3 seconds.
3. this brings up the recovery menu, under configuration you'll find the option to change your kernal to 1.50
and it keeps going on. I do not see the recovery menu and is this what I am to do or is there another or easier way to go from 2.71 to 3.40 without actually upgrading the firmware?
Thanks
