Powering on/off my Asus P5B mobo system w/ mce remote?

hi. pls, i just built a system, asus mobo P5B, intel, & i'm starting it out w/ old xp professional os, just cuz i have it. I want to get Vista Home Premium, but now w/ xp pro system, i can only power off the system to standby or TurnOff system. in standby, my system fans still go, & i can't get no peace & quiet. So usu. i just TurnOff system when i'm done. QUESTION: If i get vista home premium, & put in my tv card w/ mce remote, can i be able to power on/off system to & from quiet state, using the remote? I do it on my Vaio desktop/ refurb, but my new intel system w/ asus P5B mobo on xp pro can't power off to quiet from the keyboard. I don't want to power on manually & TurnOff system from the Start Menu each time i want to hear a mp3 song or watch a video in media center. Pls help me know if i can get my system to be good on the remote w/ vista home premium and a media center remote. Loving answers are for sure appreciated. tom L.
