Questions about upcoming PSP Devolution & UMD firmware checks

From what I understand the devolution doesn't contain its own flash, it allows you to write to the flash without booting.

Some UMDs have a firmware check requiring official firmware to play. This would mean you would have to flash back and forth if you were switching between iso's and UMD's that check firmware.

So if you use the ISO of a game you own rather than the UMD and it's a game that checks firmware, will the game work as an iso without having to flash back to an official firmware?

If that were the case then some games would not run on custom firmware, as it is ALL games work on non standard firmware, UMD's and ISO's.

Devolution chip is pretty pointless really looking at the specs just
get 3.40oe is all you need to bring your psp to full potential

the devolution chip or nano writer bit whatever its called is so not useless i mean you can unbrick psps...program it from usb and just be totally free to have 2 fw's on it and never worrying about bricking! =D that in itself is well worth it

what would this matter anyhow...a savy hacker would dump the umd and alter the ISO file for it to work....

but....as is stated above, that chip is like a year and a half old..lol
