You use nothing with DVDFab Decrypter till after you get the files ripped. You open the DVD with DVDFab Decrypter and copy the files to the hard drive. During the process DVDFab Decrypter bypasses the decryption and copyright protection. Once the files are ripped to the HDD you open them with DVD Shrink. If the quick analysis completes, you should be in good shape. If it doesn't try processing the ripped files with FixVTS and open them in Shrink again. I did Deja Vu not long ago and it didn't seem to be much of a problem.

I used RipIt4Me version 1.7.1.0 in Full DVD with the 1-Click mode. DVDFab Decrypter will do it as well. Unless there's a problem somewhere, both will get the job done. Use the one you feel most comfortable with.

From the numbers you gave you now have enough HDD space to work with. RI4M is still one of the best rippers when used properly. If you have it set up properly and have a good DVD as the source, it should work.

Deja Vu wasn't that difficult. So it shouldn't have caused any problems. Running out of HDD space would have messed it up. Hopefully you weren't using the ISO mode. And it's not unknown to get a flawed DVD, but a read scan would show that. Have you done the rip with RI4M yet?

Your rip modes are Full DVD, Movie + Menu, Movie, and ISO. With the difficult copy protections the files end up not being DVD compliant. If the rip is in ISO, the software can't process the files properly. Simply put, the ISO hides the files from the software so they can't be repaired. I don't think the author was planning on the new copy protections when the ISO option was included, or may have and expected users to know about ISO images. So, don't use ISO when there is a difficult copy protection or when you're not sure. Use the 1-Click mode from the opening window. The Wizard can't do anything the 1-Click can't and the Wizard leaves room for user error. I suggest users use 1-Click until they're more used to how everything works. I still use 1-Click myself. Not saying I know how everything works. LOL

so when i get to the backup stage in DVD Shrink what should it be. Mine goes to (ISO image file and burn with DVD Decrypter) from there it encodes and once it finishes everything it says not enough space on disk do you wish to continue. That's in the DVD decypter stage.

Go to Edit>Preferences>Target size(Blue Box)change that to Custom then in the right hand size change the number to 4350. Then click OK. Now start the transcode again and see if the DVD will fit

How large is the output file from Shrink and what brand of DVD are you using? To tell us even more, you could use the free DVD Identifier (downloadable from CDFreaks) to run a scan of your recordable DVD to tell us the manufacturer code. It's a small program and all it does is ID DVD media.

msblack-

I think what PacMan777 was referring to was what steps you took to get it worked out. Did you use VobBlanker to blank out unwanted material such as FBI, Rated Symbols, Warning Messages, Trailers, etc.?

I use to love that program before I got DVD ReMake Pro. That does everything including giving me the ability to change menu's, remove buttons, change chapter positions, etc. etc.!! Great program that is worth every penny!

no i didn't use that i used the ripit4me,the DVD Shrink,& the DVD Decrypter but i just took out the extra stuff that i wouldn't need.
Here's another problem, did anyone have trouble copying charlotte's web? Nothing i have will even let me get this copied.

RipIt4Me should work on that movie as well. The first step is to get the movie ripped. If RI4M does not work then try DVDFab to do the decryption. DVDIdle.com also has another free program called FreeDVD. There is also IFOEdit that is free to help in the process.

Use these programs to get the movie ripped and DVD Compliant, then I always use VobBlanker (free) before I burn the movie. In my opinion one of the best burning engines is ImgBurn.

Tell me the steps that you took to get the movie done, maybe that will help us figure out what the problem is.

RI4M opens DVD Decrypter first. Shrink is the last thing that it opens. If it is not working then try DVDFab Decrypter. There is also another ripping engine to try if all else fails. AnyDVD is a fantastic program. It comes with a 20 day trial before you buy it. You can get that at http://slysoft.com

Which version are you talking about?

if you are talking about the free version(only Rips, does not burn) you can't get any simpler than that (put disk in hit Start) once you have the settings set.

it is now called DVDFab HD decrypter

if you are talking about the DVDFab platinum or gold, i can see maybe its harder than the free version, not sure as i haven't used platinum version, but hear good things about it from other members like fasfrank.
