I was looking at this thread, and I became interested. I have a friend who I think his PSP mobo broke on a 3.40 OE-A PSP, so I'm interested in this. He has a second PSP. He has 2.81 on his second PSP, and my other friend who has a copy of GTA:LCS unpatched, the game broke, so he's kind of stuck until another downgrader comes about. i think that this does have potential, just I was wondering how i can do it with my PSP which is 3.40 OE-A. I would upgrade it to 2.80, and then follow the process (2.80 because in case it doesn't work, I have a downgrader). If anyone can tell me how to send my PSP back to 1.50, and tell me how to use PSPunpacker, i'd be glad to help. Good luck.

it sadly does not work :( on my psp it says update ver 3.12, but when i go to start it it says "ur system software is 3.10. there is no need to update". but, im not done with this yet. chess0990, since my computer is an old clunker, can u google search psp update and edit one of the images and put it as the pic instead of the one u made? then, go through the entire decrypted fw or whatever u did and every time u see a 1.50 change it to a 3.12? the psp must see all the files at once and look for 1.50 or something. keep trying. :)

you could use psar dumper...and it dumps the f0 for whatever fw you decrypt...

you are going to need a compiler though...this is where i am stuck..

I feel sorry for people still using DEVhook.....no, i feel stupid for them...

ok i've just tried the 3.31 version the chess0990 sent me but that wouldn't start. it just said "The system software of your psp is version 3.30 there is no need to update".
so i unpacked the eboot and i think it's somthing to do with PARAM.sfo. the update version row says 1.50 when everything else says 3.31.
But im not sure i just wanted to check.

I bricked my psp again...

First don't use notepad to edit DATA.PSAR or DATA.PSP as when you save they will be corrupted instead use a HEX Editor secondly in a Update
the PSP executes the DATA.PSP witch is the executable and DATA.PSAR
is where all the firmware files are. many people have tried swapping the DATA.PSAR with others DATA.PSAR and at the end of the day it doesn't work and never will.

My IQ is 152,some people call me a PSP Guru as i can
answer any psp related question. know a bit in C++ written a couple of programs i got 2 psp on is briced and other is original 3.40 firmware.i got a Core 2 Extreme QX6700 with a geforce 8800 GTX PC 2 ipods
and a PS3

well geez, give him credit. hes not a professional hacker, and im sure that even dax had tried this on one of his downgraders. i really beleive this could still work, it just needs to be worked on more.
im not sure why it didnt load on my psp. but, it did load on johnnymint's psp, and that sounds like progress to me. it just needs to be tweaked a little.

the only reason why they crack it first is because DAX n them have psar compilers...along with a vast amount of psps to mess about...
