I have a modded Xbox360 that has never touched XBL mainly because I am worried some update it sends me will screw up my xbox360 but I read I can update it with the April update from the net burn it to a cd and update it.

I really just want to make my x360 to play older xbox games.

Has MS found away to detect mods with this update and disable them?

Please any info would be great.

That's not the update to be concerned about. The link posted is just a backwards compatibility update. The spring dashboard update is on May 7th. Still, it should be fine regardless after that update too.
