I am still with the Pnnacle Studio 9 version with all its upgraded versions. I had lots of problems with this until I upgrade my PC to the best I can afford and now Studio 9 is better - The prescribed hardware that Pinnacle prescribed for this 9 version was defnatly not good enough because of memory problems causing all the problems. Today's newest hardware make it really ok to work with pinnacle ver. 9... When I look at all the problems I see in here with the newest studio and the fact that studio only give me two lines where I can put on film to edit I am planning on moving over to Adobe premier Pro - because I can have 99 lines to edit with - The problem is - With The Pinnacle Studio I use with all its attachments is doing producing such an excellent product that I wish Pinnacle could have had those 99 lines on the editing bank to edit more film at the same time... But I could just imagine how slow it will get because of it using the memory of the CPU

cazunigar,

Check outThis FAQ. It is not specifically for the exact problem you are having, but the steps given still might be helpful.

shzk,

I am sorry if Studio is not suiting your needs. We are continuusly trying to improve upon it to make it as good and robust as possible.

I just got Studio 11 deluxe. Install went smooth although it took forever. Worked on a project in Standard Def for about 50 min. Everything worked fine and ran well. Either it's my computer or the software but this version runs much faster than the older versions. No crashes or glitches. I'm running Vista on a quadcore with 4gigs ram and a 512 Gforce 9600GT video card. So far it's quick and painless.

I've had Pinnacle studio 11 plus patch for some months now and have spent most of that time trying to get the software to work. I've had some tech support but the problem was not resolved. I get a hang up 95% of the time when I I try to make a disc and as far as I'm concerned the whole thing has been a waste of time and money. I was an avid studio 10 supporter but I think Pinnacle have lost the plot. As for upgrading to Pinnacle 12, no thanks, I'll buy Vegas.

nigyoung,

I'm very sorry to hear that you had problems with Studio version 11. Many problems can be handled quickly by the support team. More difficult issues can take some time if they prove to be troublesome. If you reply back with your support case number I can look into what may have happened in your case.

In your particular case, it sounds like you are having an issue where the software hangs when making a disc. If the hanging occurs during the rendering process, check out this FAQ:

Click here for the Render Hang FAQ

If the rendering completes and the hanging occurs during the actual burning, please see this FAQ:

I have downloaded patches etc but I would ask one thing. There are patches under 4.16.2008 'Hardware Installers for Pinnacle and Dazzle video devices'. "Studio 11 Downloads" When you click on that icon and the list of downloads comes up there are NONE specifically named for Studio 11. Is there a code or something or do you just download anyone and try it.
I may sound like I'm whining but you potentially have a great product, plenty of candy with it, easy to use and fast but it just doesn't work in all situations. WELL YOU NEED TO MAKE IT WORK IN ALL SITUATIONS.

I thought it may have just been me but if you follow forums on the product (not just on this site) there are many, many dissatisfied customers out there.
I have worked with your support team and they have been very good but the problem was not resolved. I'll try and find my support number and forward that back to you.
So my advice to Pinnacle is forget all the whiz bang things and concentrate on getting the program to a point where it works in most, if not all, situations, other programs do.
I won't be progressing to Studio 12 but I am happy to try and resolve the problems with Studio 11 and if it can be solved then I may think of updating. If not then I'm afraid it will be another product that I'll purchase.

I bought studio 11 @ a month ago, but just got to use it. I have updated it to 11.1.2, but having burn problems. In make movie it renders the movie OK, but the burn always fails. The tech support at Pinnacle is bad. eventhough I told tech that it renders good, still he wanted me to change setting to 5000 instead of Auto, I did but did not help. Then he wanted me disable all "services" and "start" processes, that did not help. He wanted to uninstall Roxio, nero and any other burning software, I did uninstall Roxio and nero, that did not help, disabled Anti-Virus software, no help.

Also once it has burning problem then it puts the DVD drive in condition that the drive does not work, I have to shutdown the computer. I changed DVD drive to new one that I bought, no help. I can render and create the file, shut down computer, restart and then I can burn the image with reinstalled Nero, but not with Pinnacle.

I have also implemented suggestions in pinnacle burn proble FAQ.

Any body including Pinnacle who can help me, would be appreciated.

I have upgraded to Studio 12 and it works great. I only wish they didn't soak me for Studio 11 and then come out with Studio 12 so quickly. Anyhow, Studio 12 does what it says it will do, and has so much more that it offers, I am glad I upgraded.

I have an AVI video shot in Standard Def on a canon XH A1. Looks good when I play it in the edit mode of pinnacle studio 10 on an old laptop, but develops aliasing on all the straight lines (flagpoles, window frames, doors) when I play it in Studio 11 on a quadcore computer.
Windows media player makes it look good either way.
I'm a newbie trying to understand what makes the aliasing happen and how to get rid of it when I ultimately burn to a DVD.
the video was shot in 60i, standard def, 740x480 widescreen.

dayapatel, this may not apply, but you are having all the same issues I had (anti-virus, Nero, Roxio - all suspects that didn't pan out...)

Look at my post (2nd reply from original - fuzzy0846 - and you'll see what I found to work. The post directly following mine states that 11.1.1 (and presumably 11.1.2 now) will accomplish this, BUT I did not find that to be the case, and it obviously doesn't work for you on 11.1.2 either.

1) Go here - http://pinnacle.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/pin...=&p_faqid=13874

2) Download this - http://cdn.pinnaclesys.com/SupportFiles/...I3_Build178.zip

3) Follow the Read Me instructions for installing the .zip file.

I hope this works for you also. I have other issues with Studio 11 on a regular basis still, but at least I get a DVD burned without error 99% of the time now. Good Luck!

Shawn

Anyone found solution to the issue of Menus screen appearing green after rendering to DVD format (not burnt to DVD, just produced VIDEO_TS content). The Menus look fine while in pinnacle but after rendering the screen with Menus is just green.

I'm Using Pinnacle Studio 12 Ultimate on Win XP pro

I am using Studio 11 Plus and or ultimate. It works soooo badddd. Can anyone help me. I had just finished editing a movie and was burning it to a dvd to preview it on my dvd player which I had already done before and it seemed to be okay. This is the second time I lose my work. Okay. While I was burning it, the studio window closed and it didn't eject the dvd so I figured it didn't finish burning. I said, ok, I'll just reopen it and it should be okay. Well, now, it's telling me that the associated file is missing and I cannot open the file. It has been months of work because it is a 2 hr movie that we filmed to release it on DVD. Can anyone help me??? I hope I can save the file. I have it saved on an external drive, so I know it's not due to space. HELP!!!

Hey nereg76.

as you can read from earlier posts I slammed studio 11 as a piece of junk and I still stand by that. After spending a lot of time trying to make it work I gave up. Although i vowed and declared i would not buy another pinnacle product I upgraded to pinnacle 12 and it's like chalk and cheese. I've had no problems with it except once and a reboot of my PC fixed that so it was more likely a pc issue. My advice.....upgrade to Pinnacle 12.

I'm using Pinnacle 12 and I have a similar problem with the Green Screen - Mine occurs with the FIRST page of my menu.

I made a "movie" with one menu, but the menu has 2 pages. The first page has 6 chapters and Page 2 has 1 chapter. When I do the DVD Preview - it looks great. After I "Made the Movie" and burned the content to DVD, I put it in my DVD player to watch it on TV and the same thing happened to me - the first menu page is all green with nary a white outline and the "Chapter 1" title beneath it. If I take the remote control and arrow over to where Chapter 2 should be, it actually does move over and I can click on Chapter 2 and it will bring me to Chapter 2. Same for the others on Page 1.

In the lower right corner where the arrow should be to turn to page 2, there's a faint white box. I arrow to IT, and click it and BANG - there's Page 2 of the menu with Chapter 7. Only, this time, IT WORKS! Page two is there in all it's glory - perfect.

But, why is Page 1 all Green? It destroys the video. What can be done?

Thank you,
mcbarney19

I have to agree with Trinity, anything from Pinnacle is nothing but crap, and what makes it worse is their support is worse.

When I got my TV Tuner card, it came with Studio 10, I upped to 10.7. Running vista on a DELL Inspiron 1525, I have had nothing but problems, (I have experienced just about EVERY problem that I have read here on this forum).

When I contacted Pinnacle, they gave me no good info, and when I tried to again to get more info from another tech (the first tech was an idiot and knew NOTHING about computers), I was promptly told I used my

, and was given the cold shoulder by the company.

If you are reading this, I would suggest looking at anything but a Pinnacle TV tuner, or video editing software, there software is crap, and their hardware is crap, and their tech support is more crap. I guess that is why the company was sold to another company, which isn't any better.
