hello, i have extensively read this forum and i was just wondering if someone could tell me if this is the right process for upgrading my original 2.01 to my current 2.5. I am now trying to upgrade my current 2.5 to 2.71.

So step:
1. Format my memory stick
2. Install 2.71 firmware by making a folder in my PSP/GAME called UPDATE.
3. Then put the eboot in the UPDATE folder.
4. Then on my psp update it to 2.71
5. Then just downgrade to 1.5.

I have a few more questions.
1. Is it really necessary to upgrade the 1.5 to 2.0 then downgrade to 1.5 again?
2. If i follow all these steps, will i be able to play multiplayer games with my friends?

yes thats correct just do as you wrote.then i would suggest upgrading to dark_alex's cf 3.40 oe

and will i be able to play games with my friends through game share or multiplayer?
