i don't know for sure, but i heard that card is only good for use with the new 78k drive. if you have a older hitachi drive you might need the silicon image sata card.

As Far as i know the VIA Chipset Cards will work for the Sammy's and the Hitachi 79K....
you need a SIL Chipset for all other Hitachi's.....or the X360USB Which i would prefer...

I know it's a longshotbut is it possible to see which version of Hitachi you have without taking the 360 apart?

You can tell by when you open the DVD Drive there will be 2 circles and you can tell by that.
