The Big Sunday Game
"Clash of the Titans"
After a surprise change by N*hell which caught the the Freeloaders off guard they fought back in epic style to make it 1-1. Then to their credit, N*hell again made a change to make it 2_1 but this time the freeloaders were on the ball and within minutes it was 2-2 on the day. What a game!

If you use this link and open the Replay file and then documentation you can download the manual which will give you all the instructions you need.

I don't think that they (The Gremlins)really understand how much we enjoy playing this sport ;-)

Got to give it them. What better time than this afternoon to try wear people down. While its all part of the game for the old hats like ourselves who learned over the last year or so, it does seem to be getting to a few of the newer members.
Message to new members: You are very welcome, we are here to help one and other out, but please look thorugh the previous pages to find what you are looking for before posting a question. Every single problem is covered in this thread as we have all been there before.
The amount of repetition is really slowing the site down and this is affecting everyone. Thanks again to one-and-all (",)

on behalf of everyone cheers mogser and brian... i,m wondering is it a bad thing to say cheers as it only makes it harder to find codes with so many people saying thank you ! so heres a big thank you in advance for when codes go again on behalf of everyone... well done and thank you...men amongst men, keepers of the faith , with a tear in either eye i salute you salt of the earth, in fact a small parade down o connell st with bunting and maybe a few hundred thousand should be bestowed on real men like you... and of course maybe a statue in st stephens green or in eastwall business park right beside the lake next to the ntl head office to say the least.. i,m starting a collection right now !!

Thanks for the never ending stream of updated codes. While waiting for codes I tried to update to the Beta software but the link between box and pc would not open. Using a null modem cable and usb serial adaptor as none of our pcs has a serial port. The arrangment connects ok to my technomate Sat. box but this is the first time I've tried the replay box. Is there any other software I should be using? Serial ports seem to have gone out of style? Thanks again, regards

Are you using the STBlink-6 ?
Like many of the RS232 cables not all usb serial adaptor cables are null modem. Null modem is reverse wired as opposed to the standard straight wired serial cable.

Well I know that at some stage you will need to sort the communication issue but there really isn't much point in flashing the Replay with the Beta just now as the new firmware for the Replay will be here sooooon......
Anyway,
Have you followed these steps?
Loaded software drivers for the adapter.
Set the com port number on the PC.
Used the same com port on the STBlink software.

Thanks Novice 99 and gman. I am defininirely using the right cable. Gman has probably hit the mark with the setting of the com port number. Unfortunately Msoft is not too clear on setting com port numbers for a null modem cable. I've had a look at Phone and Modem options in control panel and think I may have to do some experimenting. I'll post any progress. Thanks,

How to Check & Change your COM Port number in XP
Assuming you are using XP?
Do the following.
START
Right Click "MY COMPUTER"
Choose "MANAGE"
In the resulting window, click on "DEVICE MANAGER"
In the right hand pane, click on the little plus sign beside "PORTS" in the right hand pane.
Right click on the USB Adapter (Should be something like "Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COM#)
Choose "Properties"
Click on "PORT SETTINGS" TAB
Click on "ADVANCED"
Then you will see the COM Port Number Box. You should be able to change it there using the drop down box.
Try to set it to COM2
Restart Windows
Set STBLink to COM2 & try to connect.
If that fails try another port number.
