The manufacturers are working on a fix as I understand. Until then everyone will have to put the keys in manually, (or subscribe officially). These things usually get fixed and it has only been a few short days that they haven't updated, and to be honest, putting the keys in manually every week or so to get thousands of euros of free telly is still better than paying ntl

in Dublin and im doing a manual search. I used

Symbol Rate 6887
Constellation....64 QAM


I typed in 379.5 to get Mtv base and all the rest of the music channels and euronews channels. But it sais no channels found. and when i typed 371.5 for chelsea tv extra the quality is poor and flickers a lot.

Can someone help PLEASE

about 144 thanks again for the updates folks, I'll glady put up with entering the codes this way because it used to be a lot worse & pretty much any problem has been dealt with on this thread already thanks to the usual suspects

go to the ntl website and you should find out there?

have 137 channels should i do manual search or leave good enough alone

if your happy with you have got i would leave it unless there was channels missing that you watch?

In preparation, make sure your pc has a 9 pin comm port at the back, if so you will need a "Null Modem" cable (?16 from Maplins - Jervis St or Blanch Centre). If it has not you will need a "USB to 9 pin Serial" cable. Everything else you need including easy step by step instructions for loading the software will be available here as soon as the update is ready.

Just be happy to have the channels for now. The minor details can be dealt with when things settle down.

Now is the time to back up your channells
You will need a Null Modem Lead, part numbert. L71BT : to back up your channels and favs.

You will also need the Stblink5.20 to connect from your PC to the box.

Stblink can be downloaded from,
Eamo's Library (link under my photo)
Replay Folder
Software Folder
Stblink5.20........Download it.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

To backup your saved channels and favourites.

Connect the null modem lead to your PC and box and power up the box.
Open up the stb link.

Setup Comm.

Click Read User Data

The file will be called Factory_Data.txt
There will be 64 blocks to download from the box.
Save it to your desktop and rename it what you want.

If at a later date you do a full rescan and find nothing,
You can reload the file you have saved on your desktop.

But when you have established a connection with the stb link
Click Write Factory Data and get the saved file from your desktop.
There will be 64 blocks to upload.
Make sure you don't unplug the box before the trandfer can be 100%
Even after your PC has read transfer [b]WAIT another min.
Make sure as always to wait for the rapidly flashing light.

Unplug the box and power again you should hsve sll your channels working on your box.

I have just loaded a file in the library, (link at the bottom of this post.)
It?s all my channels and favourites as I have them on my Replay Lite.
Click on the link.
Go to the replay folder.
Then the replay channel dump files.
Download Brian chan fav feb 29 2008 to your desktop.

Connect the null modem lead to your PC and box and power up the box.
Open up the stb link.
Setup Comm.

Click Write Factory Data
and get the saved file from your desktop.
There will be 64 blocks to upload.
These will then transfer from to your Replay lite.
Make sure as always to wait for the rapidly flashing light before unplugging the null modem lead.

Unplug the box.

Power it back up again and all my channels and fav?s will be stored on your box.


Use the Channel Manager to rename Favourites.

3 Sports
4 Music
5 Kids
6 Documentaries
7 News
8 Others

I want to purchase a "usb to 9 pin serial" but the one on ebay isn't vista compactable any ideas where i'll get one that is?

i got mine in maplins in city centre (next to smyths) and i,m running vista and ive used it a few times no problem...

I Am still having problems from last night. When I got back from the stations of the cross! Some channels stopped working.

I done a full auto scan , it always shows 6887/6952, If I do a full auto scan on 6887 it doesnt pick up many channels. So I leave it at 6887/6952. I have tried it the other way 6887.

I then do a manual scan and input 339.5 for the channels I need which says no channels found even in manual search mode which I change to 6887 OR 6952 Nothing. So in manual search it gives me the option to do auto scan(red Button) which I do and then I do s Channel search and get the other channels? But they do not play properly. My lite is 7.52 I see we just got scrambled so if anbody has time let me know if you have any ideas later. Its funny I get tv3 no problem when Scrambled I cannot get it when its on line.

indeed - n*l just changed again - anyone got the new codes - oh to be able to auto update - is it just me or are n*l getting anal about changing codes !!

I had similar probs after updating to beta software. Scanning found no channels. Fortunately I was able to clone from another box which sorted the problem. If you can't do that you'll have to wait for expert guidance, and these guys are good:-)
