Sorry gman excuse my broken English, or rather my bad grammar, lol
What I meant to say = I'm looking for a up to date product instruction manual, so I can learn how to add to favs etc. etc.
Rather then ask all the different minor questions on this thread, it would be better to get the user guide.
By the way part of the thanks goes to you.

Just saw your posts, it looks like you are getting fairly frustrated. I thank the fact of the matter is that most people, including myself, on this thread have Replay Lite and know absolutely nothing about the Replay PVR (Personal Video Recorder).
Caan I suggest that you check the current version of the software installed on the box to see if its the same as one of the versions installed on the Replay Lite. You may find it in Utility/Receiver Information.
Post the info here when you find it.

I was after an answer to the same question as briandir.
I have 7.51 on a replay PVR. Would you recommend installing the 9.10 onto it as per brian1956's post??.

Unfortunately , the Replay Lite fix is not suitable for the Replay pvr. There is a thread on this forum where someone has tried it and had to reinstall 7.51.
The pvr is still popular and the last fix worked for the past 12 months so I have no doubt there will be an update. Will prob take a little longer though.

Essential you use the correct null modem cable. There are several types of null modem cable and only one type(Maplins Part No. listed earlier in these pages)will do. Com port error means your box is not talking to your pc. I had similar prob. but setting com port to correct number (as advised in these pages) sorted it. Persevere, these guys will help you out for sure.

Question re upgrade of replay lite
- having 'downgraded' to 742a (having followed the usual process and waiting to the speedy flashing of the lite)I cannot seem to upgrade to 9.10 -
On opening STB link, setting up comm and unticking maintain user data I have selected 'upgrade software' and selected the 9.10 bin file - it then states it is 'connecting' but makes no progress at all.
When I cancel upgrading and power on the box when connnected to a tv it has a green lite when powered off and a red when powered on?
Any ideas on how to solve this problem? should I reinstall 742 A or some other old software or does it have to be an direct upgrade bewteen 742 A and 9.10?

In an 'add on' as it where to my previous post - I think the problem lies with the reverse power option thing going on - I can make connection to the box and the lite turns red (which in it's current state apparently means 'on') but when I go to upgrade software the light then turns green (which is off) and thus a connection error occurs - basically I can't seem to upgrade with any software at all.
help would be much appreciated.

thanks u guys f'n LEGENDARY.......... rescanned channels 245, i now have more than ever by about twenty........ also updated software lovley new colour interface! even the tv guide is working again its like a brand new box yr instructions r top notch i o u lads a few pints novice and brian...... by the way where can i find out what those symbols mean when you push the info button i.e (dollar) (smiley) (na) (one bar) (three bar) etc etc.......

They will normally disappear when the box updates all the channel info. If they don't and you are finding them a pain just do another auto scan as you should only have between 135 and 148 channels depending on whether it has caught duplicates or how good the signal is.

Green is on and Red is standby.
Unplug the box and close the STBlink on the pc. Then open the STBlink again and power up the box to standby (red) and load the software. It will flash slowly green/red and do not unplug until it starts to flash rapidly.

When the codes change the box will scramble but will clear after about 10 seconds so dont panic. The reason for this is that they seem to be changing the complete line of code at the moment as opposed to one or two digits/letters in the past.

Hi Guys,
I have a friends eurovox max-v 2008 but the UFL keeps giving me the message "this firmware is not fit for your receiver" The box is definitely a eurovox max-v 2008:
All of the UFL's for this box give me this message. The last firmware I was able to update was the max-v 2008 July 07 bin file with Dnupman.
Is this a clone box? As I've heard the max-v 2008 hasn't been cloned. It's doing my nut in- I read somewhere that I can update it with the OCT 07 Blue Box UFL and then it will let me update the April 08 kuros 3 UFL. Is this correct or will this turn my mates box into a paperweight??

Novice - Thanks for getting back to me but although I know usually red is standby and green is on this was not the case - when the box was connnected to the tv and the replay lite menu would appear the standby 'red' light was on - when I pressed the standby button on the remote the light would change to green and then the box went into standby - wierd!
I have tried to down grade to 7.42A several times now, each time successful but when I try to upgrade to 9.10 it continually states 'software upgrade error' - Performing exactly the same steps however I can put both 7.52 and beta 9.08 back on - maybe I have a dodgy 9.10 file - I will stick to manually inputting the codes, I will try again after the match - hopefully the codes wont change too much.

Even though its recommended to use 7.42a first, you can go directly from 9.06 beta to the new 9.10 without using 7.42a if you need to.

Setting up the Favourites Menu
Press the menu button
Navigate to the Channel Manager Section (top of screen)
Go to the TV Channel section and press OK
The TV Channel Manager is now available
By default you are now on Favourite 1 (pressing the RED button will take you through favourites 1-8).
Pressing the GREEN (edit) button allows you to change the Favourite 1 Menu to something more appropriate.When you press the Green Button you will have the option to RENAME FAV (navigate to this and press OK). You can now manually rename the Favourite to what you want,
As you scroll through the channel listings you can add your favourites as follows. If you have a favourite called Popular TV you may want to add the standard freeview channels. When you navigate to BBC 1 press the OK button and a Smiley Face will appear next to the channel ? this means it has been added to this favourites menu.
When you have finished (with for example ? Popular TV) press the RED Button and you will now be on Favourites 2 (pressing the RED button will scroll you through each of the EIGHT Favourite menus). If as I?ve done you?ve renamed Favourites 2 to Movies you may want to add Sky Movies 1/2/3/4 etc
When you are finished with your favourites ? press exit and the data will be saved.
