OE Firmware Feature Request - Sort

It would be nice if the OE firmware sorted the items in the game menu by the file modified date stamp. This would allow people to sort the items in any order they would like by simply 'touch'ing the files.

I know that it is possible to sort the files using fatsort or a similar program, but it seems like a lot of extra work to have to rewrite the file allocation table every time new files are added to the mem stick, not to mention the extra wear and tear on the device. Seems like the firmware could handle the sorting without too much trouble (but then again I don't know much about hacking psp firmware).

... just my opinion on a feature that would be nice ...

Actually, I tried fatsort today and it does not seem to work because the mem stick is not coming up as FAT/FAT32.

Is there a way to sort items if I happen to run linux (which I do)?
