modding an xbox 360 in BIOS?

hey tonight im trying to flash my first xbox 360.....i pretty much understand everythign except what to do in the BIOS section. I have a VIA 6421 chipset that i just purchased. I have a samsung dvd drive in my xbox and I dont have a flash USB drive but i have an external hard drive...woul the external hard drive work instead of the USB flash? I'm just as what I'm suppose to do next...can anyone give me details cuz im a little confused and excited to try and flash my first box....thanks

i dont mean to sound like a dick...but isn't there different procedures for the m25 then the m28 drive?

sorta what drive do u have? the only difference is its slightly hard to get xtreme to see ms28 drive.
