so is it not safe to be tampering with flash0 though... higher chance of bricking?

it will semi brick or brick if u delete some files
sometimes the xmb theme files might be corrupt, or don't work. ur psp might semi brick then as well. for instance i tried using a 3.03 oe-c topmenu_plugin.rco file to replace the one in 3.30 oe-a and it semi bricked. so i went to recovery mode and replaced it with one that did work
as long as u can access recovery menu if u semi brick, u should be fine

Well most custom themes out there are made for 3.03 oe-c. With 3.10 oe-a and higher, you have to change the topmenu. Use this.

And if you are able to access recovery menu, you should be able to copy over your original flash0 files. I hoped you backed them up in advance.

I was using this psp wardrobe for 3.03OE-C. I was able to install the mac theme and vista. I saw another one and i tried flasing it so i did. Afterwards, it said "done". However, it froze and did not want to respond. I turned off and on and after that i only saw the gray screen with no icons and the buttons don't respond anymore.

I don't know how much it would cost. But they would accept it, in fact if its within warranty, you prolly wouldn't have to get it fixed, you just would have to tell them it got bricked and they will get you a replacement. The only problem with that option is they might give you a non downgradable PSP.
