hey guys.... i have fw 2.71 and i downgraded it to 1.5 then i upgraded it to 3.40... and do you know what hapens?????? IT BRICK MY PSP thats why i hate 3.40..... all i need is a miracle to bring back my psp again to a normal....i need an angel to help me pls..... i was crying right now...T_T.. :C

u cant an u need a new motherboard or a modchip but i think only they can be on fw1.5

are you sure you followed intructions perfectly? did you reset system settings after each firmware change (appparently it helps?)
modchips would work on anyfirmware i think

thank you for replying guys... i heared about holding R while booting the psp.... but it run only in custom firmware but mine is not.. this is what happen when i upgarade from 1.5 to 3.40 the process is not running i wait to long but it stick in 0% so i decided to abort the process so i turn it off, then when i turn it on, its totally black and did not reboot... is there any programs to boot my psp? exept from modechip? and how much is the modecip?.....i appreaciate you all....thanks...

from wot i can read you need to disable no umd not enable (so you need a games umd in) this is why only some games are working now (unless i missed something?)

Hello,
I have iso problems and i'm currently using firmware 3.40oea. I backed up some of my games into isos but they don't seem to work properly. Metal Gear port ops doesn't load pass near the beginning after Snake gets the sneaking suit. I was baffled by it, so instead of remaking another iso from my umd game, i tried dumping a friend's metal gear game. This time the iso wouldn't even load into the game. i tried compressing it, same thing, I tried turning on use no umd and same thing. I also made a iso of my Starwars battle front(brand new store bought), seems to work fine till I went into "galatic conquest" play where it stops loading up completely then just stops and shuts off my psp. Do I just have bad luck, or is there something wrong with 3.40oea? By the way all my umds play perfectly on their own. Thanks for your time, please help.

do u have no-umd enabled in config and if so put a game in or some iso files like gta-vice city stories doesnt work damn how many times have i tried so metal gear might just be one of them games

hey guys after searching far and wide, i've actually solved my iso problems and everything!
all you have to do is change a few settings in recovery mode (hold 'r' trigger when turning on psp):
no UMD to diasable
game folder hombrew to 1.5 kernal
plain modules in umd/iso to disable
execute boot.bin in umd.iso to disable
use isofs driver also in umd inserted mode to disable
and if that doesnt work you have to use flash1 formatter v2 to format your flash 1 folder which can also be the cause of the problem, found here:

and that should be the end of that, let me know how it goes people, would love to know if it worked for you!

wow y would u turn off ur psp while up/downgrading....it clearly says not to do that...
anyways when i first bricked my psp i did a walmart swap as i call it....
go buy a new psp...peel off the serials and swap those....go to walmart on a saturday inbetween 12-2 because thats when its really bizzy and try to get in line woth the oldest looking persons, cuz chances are they dont even know what a psp does.....the person that returned mine was like 50ish
and then if that fails....go buy a modchip
or buy one used in classifieds or gamers
