DVD writer 740b help

I have a 740b writer for my HP and I just peurchased some blank DVD+RW for my hp. My computer is supposed to support this format but when I put it in it acts as though there is no disc.Other typse such as CD-RWs and DVD-Rs work fine but it won't read this typ for some reason. Any Help?

Is the firmware up to date?Looks like Hi24 is latest.

The Nero Info Tool can tell you your firmware version (if you have Nero installed on the PC, you have this)
