I just had my dad buy me a 100-spindle of Verbatim DVDs so I could redo all the burnt games I have (which are mostly burnt on TDK and have been failing me as of late) as well as my compressed dual-layer discs (which haven't been performing well in my DVD player; skips and access pauses occur at random times). I'm putting all my eggs into one basket with this Verbatim stuff.

Will my results with Vertbatim really be that much higher?

maybe you burn it wrong? TDK works fine with me.

Hey, it was the recommendation of this board that I move to Verbatim. I was convinced TDK was the way to go but then Gran Turismo 4 began skipping and loading forever.

I burn all my stuff at 4x in DVD Decrypter more often than not.

TDK is ok on some systems but not on others. My friend had the same chip as me and his plays them fine, mine doesn't
Verbatim is a much better choice but usuall i suggest you buy smaller pack sizes until you know they will work. But you should really not have a problem if they are genuin Verbatim. When you get them then put one in Nero or another disc tested that will give you the media ID then post it up.

A simple media switch can do wonders. Different results using the same programs and burner with the correct and up-to-date firmware can create different results if you switch between media brands i.e. Memorex, FujiFilm, Taiyo Yudens, Sonys and etc... I was amazed at my results when I switched over to Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD+Rs now then from before when I was using Sonys and Memorex disc. With a simple media brand switch, everything was immaculate and running so smoothly and even better than my original. Tales of the Abyss is a prime example. Trust me on the ToA thing, lol.
