Make sure to update your firmware by Monday or else there might be trouble, thats why this release is out today .

WOW. Crazy. So I would now have to wait to connect again because I own 3 Hitachi's 78fk. Hope they release that support for Hitachi's so I can get the update and be good to go again.

but surely you must have to update, i would of thought you will need this to play the newer games as they might contain this update.
and will the 360 detect backups only on live and not just regular play?. who knows

I updated my MS28 to xtreme 5.3a
Everything works perfect like it did before, so I hope I'm good.
My son's 0059DJ Hitachi is not even connected to live so he's good for now. But I'd love to have MYSELF a hitachi with xtreme 5.3

Well, this sure does show that Microsoft will now officially start combating people with hacked firmwares. Their first step was to defend against the hacks with different DVD-ROM drive revisions, now it's come to people with hacked firmwares trying to play backup games. This is only the begginning as to what Microsoft will do. At this point I kinda feel bad for the 2 people I know who paid to get theirs modded, such a shame once they figure out that after they update they wont be able to play their backups or worse they might get banned.

The update is only for Samsung drives which includes all the firmware versions (ms25 and ms28).
I have removed the network cable already. I hope MS won't include the code but C4E must have his reasons to churn out an update so quickly.

all i have do is make xtreme 53 using my original and flash it like i did my xtreme 52, right? im gonna be using the mtkflash commands etc. but ill do this when i see what the springupdateofdoom does.

just hope the spring update, what ever it does, is fixable by this FW. I think there is a reason for C4E to release it BEFORE the spring update.
im not pluged in so ill stay with 5.2 for awhile longer.
